Keegan McConnell, Director / Partner of Orthopedia Physical Therapy, LLP, is a licensed physical therapist. A native of Dallas, Texas, Keegan received his Master of Science degree in Physical Therapy from Texas Woman’s University-School of Physical Therapy in 1999. Prior to entering physical therapy, Keegan received his Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Science from Centenary College of Louisiana. While attending Centenary College of Louisiana, Keegan played collegiate soccer as a goalkeeper.
Since 2001, Keegan has been co-owner of Sports Injury Prevention Programs (S-I-P-P), a performance enhancement and injury prevention outreach program for competitive, youth athletes. Keegan is actively involved in clinical research. In 2006, Keegan presented a Research Platform Presentation at the American Physical Therapy Association’s (APTA) Combined Sections Meeting on the “Effects of a Five Week Injury Prevention Program on the Kinematics and Kinetics in Adolescent Women Soccer Players: A Pilot Study.” The research abstract for this presentation was published in the Journal of Orthopedic and Sports Physical Therapy, (JOSPT). A Research Poster Presentation, in which Keegan is a co-author, on a follow up study to the aforementioned, has recently been accepted for the 2008 APTA Combined Sections Meeting.
Keegan’s interest and focus has been on treating general orthopedic and sports injuries since entering physical therapy in 1999. He has worked with patients of all ages and activity levels, and has continued his education and specialization in manual therapy, sports medicine, and spine rehabilitation through many continuing education courses.
In his leisure time, Keegan enjoys playing the guitar, mountain biking, and spending time with his wife, Kristen, also a physical therapist, specializing in pediatrics, and two boys, Jack and Hayden. Keegan and his family reside in Flower Mound, TX.
